We had double digit increases every year.
Hopefully that won't come to pass and the insurance companies will respond in the way we need them to.
But the concerns, the warning signs are there for everybody now and this data supports that.
It is.
So what the insurance companies do when affordability is an issue.
So first of all, they put out lots of lower cost options in the market.
But for they might be appealing to younger members, but they tend to have very high excesses.
They know a lot of them.
Most of them have 40 percent shortfalls on those procedures.
They have no cover for major cardiac surgeries and BlackRock Clinic and the matter private.
So they are, you know, they're functional plans, but they're not quality health care plans.
And what we're now seeing is there's a huge gap or a widening gap between the cover that a lot of older members will hold because they need full cover for those procedures and obviously what younger members want.
But I do see the insurance companies, they are trying to respond with products that people will still see, you know, give them value for money cover.
But I think, Claire, what's happening now is like the average premium now is hovering at €1,960.
I mean, it's gone up €500 during the past two to three years.
For a lot of people, and that's per adult, for a lot of people now, they don't have €2,000 each to spend on health insurance.
And yes, there are plans in the market right now from €995
upwards these what we call good value mid-level schemes but for a lot of people maybe who've already reduced their cover down and they're on those plans the only option below that is to go on an entry-level plan that covers public hospitals only they're about 500 euro but the cover on those plans there is pretty much there's no cover there's no quality cover on those plans and that's what you know what's going to happen now if the insurance companies don't put more product into the market between now and the end of the year
which we understand they are working on new initiatives.
But if they don't put good product in, unfortunately, those younger members, we're dealing with them all the time.
