You know, Trump has this giant armada sailing their way.
They start putting stuff down on the table.
So they say, we'll stop enriching.
At least for a period of time.
And they've never done that before.
Like, they've never, like, Obama's agreement didn't do that.
And so they said, like, we'll stop enriching.
We'll dilute the store of radioactive material that we have.
And...
What happened – and this is the really remarkable thing to me – was it was made clear to me by people who were in the room or were briefed by people who were in the room that Kushner and Wyckoff were kind of over their heads, that they basically didn't understand what was being put down in front of them.
And part of the reason for that – I was told this by several people –
Neither Kushner nor Witkoff brought a technical advisor into the room.
And, you know, this stuff is like really complicated because you're dealing with like centrifuges and radioactivity and the, you know, enrichment cycles.
And essentially, they didn't know what was in front of them and they didn't have anyone they could ask.
And I say this, I try to say this without naivety about the Iranians.
They've lied, cheated, bamboozled their way to like keeping their holding on to everything they have for,
know, four years.
But it's possible that there was a real potential for a deal.
