And so the negotiation breaks up.
This is basically the end of February.
And Wyckoff and Kushner fly back to Washington and tell the president, nope, you know, couldn't do it.
And the war starts, you know, hours later.
And what somebody made clear to me, and this is somebody who worked with Kushner and Wyckoff, knows the nuclear file really, really well,
is that when the negotiation was over, Kushner and Wyckoff gave a kind of press conference.
And Wyckoff said, we had to bomb them, basically.
We had no choice because if we hadn't, the Iranians were only days away from making a nuclear weapon.
And everyone that I talked to
including former officials who worked with Kushner-Witkopf, said that that was not the case.
That as it was said to me, and this is really important because this is like why we went to war, is it wasn't that urgent.
That they couldn't make a bomb in a matter of days, that that was a kind of, you know, a misconception at best of what was on the table and kind of what the Iranians have left.
And but that that wasn't true.
And that because of that, basically, we went to war.
Well, if I could set the scene for the negotiations, they're taking place in Geneva inside the residence of the ambassador from Oman.
And so there are people coming and going in the room and there are people who are kind of being briefed, you know, practically minute to minute on what's happening inside the room.
So once I kind of figured out who these people were, then I kind of, you know, I reached out to some of them and some of them were pretty forthright about what had happened in the room there.
Well, that's a tricky question.
I mean, but it's really important.
So as you said, he's in Geneva, Kushner.
