And I think I have a lot of trust in that as well as the explosive play potential with some of their best players.
Like I would not be surprised at all if we're sitting here at the beginning of October and Jacksonville has the highest explosive play rate in the league because they do have so many guys with game breaking speed and you've got a great offensive play caller to design plays for those players.
I mean, your point about Trevor Lawrence is well made, right?
And I think that for me, the question that is just going to hover outside of like Travis Hunter and what his usage is going to be and Brian Thomas Jr.
and whether or not he can take a step forward again, the way that he looked as a rookie, if he can kind of recapture some of that.
The real question to me is just like, what do you actually believe about this offense?
Do you believe that Trevor Lawrence just got hot
for a little bit?
Or do you believe that the last half of that season, and really how they played in the playoff game against Buffalo as well, because I thought that he played pretty well prior to that game-ending interception too, it's whether or not you believe that Liam Cohen provides him with a high enough floor that Trevor Lawrence just has not had in his career
where the structure is not going to bottom out around him and force him to be a quarterback that we just haven't really seen in the league, right?
I think that what we've seen, whether it's been Urban Meyer, the last two seasons with Doug Peterson, is that when the structure of the offense falters, we just have not seen often enough Trevor Lawrence be able to go into, you know, that Patrick Mahomes, I can bail you out of any situation, that Josh Allen, you know, that elite tier of quarterbacks where it almost doesn't matter what the play call is, it can make anything look good.
because they can extend plays, because they can push the ball downfield, because they are a threat as a scrambler.
He obviously has pieces of each of those tools that I have named.
We just haven't seen it consistently enough to make us believe that, hey, if it's the second half and this team is trailing 14 points and Liam Cohen doesn't have his fastball, that Trevor Lawrence is the guy that's going to drag you out of it.
I think that maybe I'm just leaning more on the side of Cohen has bought enough goodwill with me to make me believe
that what we saw in the ground game, what we saw in the play action, the screen game, some of those quick passes is something that you can replicate from last year to this year.
And that might be enough to kind of buttress some of the other volatility that might make me feel a little bit more uncertain about where this offense is right now.
This is who I was hoping we were talking about.
