that if you were to play the under-20s in June and July, that Jack O'Connor, Jim McGuinness, Keir McGeaney would be quite happy to let his under-20 players, and at that stage, they're in either their All-Ireland quarter-final or semi-final, they're going to be a first-round under-20.

It's not a mission.

I'd be making the point, Pat, why was Thomas Kennedy, with all the depth of talent Kerry has, why was he playing?

I know, I know, I know, I know.

There's an element too of managers have to look at the resources and sort of say, was it the right thing?

If you're making the point earlier that there was a half-fit senior players weren't played in that game on Sunday to keep them right for the All-Ireland Series, why was Tomás Kennedy played if he's an under-20 game?

To me, that's more of an internal issue with Kerry as opposed to a structural issue.

So you have to look at your resources.

You have to sort of play the long game.

What's the right decision for him and the panel?

And so on that basis, I think that might have been a misjudgment on Kerry playing him in a game that they could have got.

They would have won without him.

And he would have been fit and fresh during the week.

So there's an element of you've got to manage the calendar irrespective of when it plays.

And managers have to do that.

Yeah, and that's one thing that was encouraging.
