But it's just it's just there is a there is a an a um there is a prominence given to this uh that is that is draining and it is given to it because VAR has become the the the most significant um character in so many games.

And again, you know, uh this isn't an original point, but it is it's significant that last year's Premier League

was decided on a af you know, in a in the VAR box after an incident in in at at West Ham Arsenal, rather than say

uh Manchester City QPR in two thousand and twelve and and the Aguero moment.

We are now waiting to see what some bureaucrats decide uh is the gr is a great moment or not.

And that's that is fundamentally wrong.

I'm not sure like you know clearly they did were talking about uh adding a kind of a layer of extravagance onto their team, um which hasn't happened.

Um but I think uh they like w when you look around when you look around the contenders, and this is it, this is the thing about Arsenal, they aren't um uh particularly attractive Premier League champions.

Um they're not a a scintillating team that you think of are going to stop, you know, are gonna wipe away all all all comers, but they have incredible depth in their squad, they have extraordinary um cover in all positions, and they know how to to just get you know to get results.

And when you look at that them against the up the opposition,

that is that is enough.

And I think even if they were to get like I think even a even a top player coming into that side um would you know I think they would need to commit wholly to what it is uh Arteta wants from his players.

We saw with Eze last year um when he was left out of the side after you know making a couple of mistakes and not being um

you know, focused on the key principles of the Arsenal team.

So that is what Arteta stresses.

And he can talk as much as he likes about, you know, wanting to bring a bit of star quality into it or whatever.

But uh he's wedded to that and he's never going to change or move away from that.

Sh of course it should matter.

Now, Liverpool, like I think it's the first time in in the Premier League that they haven't had a player uh born in Liverpool, but I think there were probably periods um in their in their history when they when they didn't have uh players born in Liverpool.
