And and I want I want the kids to understand that that is possible um because anything can happen in high school basketball.
Um and so for us it's you know, to win it, to create a culture that's long lasting and that kids want to be a part of this program.
They really do.
And, you know, even even, you know, our year in two thousand one with some of my my friends and teammates, I mean, we we almost got upset in the second round and and and we thought that was a surefire win um versus Leighton team.
And then we, you know, we did really well in the in the semis and and we were driving up to the state championship thinking that
Dude, we're gonna be state champions here in about five, six hours.
Ended up losing to awesome team West Jordan by three.
But I I believe it does take a little bit of luck.
But I believe you have to be in the opportunities to give you that little bit of luck.
You know, and especially like in foray basketball, one of the disadvantages is and I hope the state can fix this and it's probably they won't be able to, we have to go
Play Saint George schools.
That means a four hour drive if you get them in a first or second round.
And we did that my first year.
We had to go play um Desert Hills.
We had to go there, travel, travel there in one day, play Desert Hills.
We ended up losing.
And so one of the things that we got a little bit lucky on is we we played um Stansbury in our first round.
We hosted a game, but our second round game was just 30 minutes down the road at Cottonwood rather than going to play Dixie or Snow Canyon down there.
And so that that
Fit fell into our hands a little bit of luck.
