If it's a solid lump, we get a little bit more twitchy on that.
So, yeah, we might chop that one out.
screening um into a certain age what do we look for well firstly do the screening yeah no the number one thing is the screening it's a poo test it's real simple it's not invasive yeah and that's looking for the presence of um blood that you can't see called occult blood if that's positive we do a scope nice and simple that's that bit right so do that for a start
The other one is we are seeing an increase in bowel cancers in younger people, and we don't know why that is happening.
And there's a lot of work going and trying to ferret that one out.
Any change in bowel habit, any blood in your stool.
What do you mean by bowel habit?
I've been trunicking on doing a shit once a day, every day.
Suddenly I'm not going for a week, and then when I do, it's funny.
The really nasty one is any blood mixed in with your stool, mixed in, especially dark blood, or motions that are made up of just blood or mucus.
Now, it's quite common to have a little bit of bright red blood when you do a shit, okay?
It's normally from an external process.
