Podcast Appearances
So let me tell you what happened after the Rogan appearance.
Because my response to the Schellenberger Rogan appearance, when I was like, okay, I was like, this is a huge void.
Stanford's comms team, they were like, don't worry, it's not the Washington Post.
And I just about died.
Because I thought, like, no one sentence has ever been so evocative of the difference between institutional comms and, like, internet native comms.
right um in that there is a such a difference in what they see as like legitimate or meaningful or having reach or carrying or impact and i said um
I know Michael Schallenberger, I've been emailing with him for months, actually, and I'm gonna drop all of my communications with him on Substack, all my emails, everything.
I want people to see what I actually said, what I actually talked to him about, and then they can compare that with what he just said on Rogan, and they can make up their own mind.
I'm not gonna go back and forth, there's no reason to do that, but I want there to not be a complete void of response from me, and that was what I did.
And that got play on X. And also when you search, that comes up, right?
And it was important to me to have my side out there in some way.
But this was an example, I think, of the complete...
You know, the old comms playbook for an institution is you say nothing.
You let the media cycle pass.
You bear more liability by talking.
You can only make things worse if you speak.
And it is the complete opposite.
They really believe there is a press cycle that goes by.
And when you try to explain that there is no such thing as a press cycle, right?
you have been made into a character in a cinematic universe and they will keep returning to you over and over and over again every time you are useful your typecast yeah and when you just became like the cia plant at stanford university like my god like that's a gold mine like i'm not going away um and and trying to but but again per your point the liability right like
