This is something where I don't know how to break through sometimes with institutions on this front, even as a person within one.
And so bringing in somebody from outside, I imagine that is also seen as, you know, unpredictable because then their brand becomes associated with somebody else's brand.
And then per the point about
You know, what third party person did you have on who said an unsavory thing once 10 years ago on somebody else's podcast?
And and that winds up, I think, that fear of of unmanageability.
Right.
They can't protect the brand in a tight way and it paralyzes them.
And that paralysis, which is actually worse and they don't realize it, but that paralysis is what prevents them from moving forward.
And until we can have people in those comms roles that understand that the paralysis is worse, I feel like...
The time, unfortunately, and I understand that the court cases and the lawsuits create significant challenges, and I understand that that is a tactic that is used to put people in that jeopardy.
But when these moments happen and these very, very high stakes rumors and political propaganda campaigns are happening, if you are not in the conversation, if you are not defending yourself, institutions collapse as a result.
They just can't.
They're not in the fight.
I've been really encouraged by how many more physicians and public health folks and epidemiologists I've seen participating in the conversation on social.
That has been huge.
I mean, it was so different during the Texas measles outbreak and what is happening now.
I think also with RFK Jr.
being the government, right, which is very weird to say,
it creates an opportunity to have that counterpoint.
One thing that I have noticed is a, I think there's still a sense of waiting for permission a little bit.
