You challenge your brain.
Social connection.
People who are socially connected with others live longer and enjoy better health.
And then the last one has to do with beliefs.
Because the research is really clear.
The folks at Yale have proven that if you believe old age is good, if you have an optimistic attitude toward it,
On average, those people live longer and enjoy better health than people who dread old age.
So my P's are passion, planning, preparation, and potential.
Well, I think there's pretty good evidence that engaging in hobbies is good for your health.
And that has to do with curiosity, with novelty.
All of those things have actually been scientifically proven
to enhance your health and increase longevity.

And within that average is someone who got hit by a bus and died early and someone who lived to 107 and was still working.
So I think the thing that I am so concerned about and passionate about is fighting the stereotype.
There is a stereotype prevalent in our society that says aging is inevitably associated with decline.
You get older, you decline.
And it's true there is some decline physiologically and physically, but it's minimal.
And most of that decline can be prevented with work.
Physical activity, nutrition, same old things.
