Hill is just a really interesting pitcher.
Um he was on the Blue Jays Scout team two years ago, uh w um with the then Blue Jays area scout.
Uh he's from Dallas, the Dallas area.
So I don't know if this is another case of the Blue Jays uh getting their man.
I think it's more a case of um
But typically when uh when you're trading a player like Jeff Hoffman for prospects, uh you're given a pool of players from which to choose.
Uh and I think the Blue Jays already had some pretty good data in their system about Hill.
He's uh he's six foot five, he's only a hundred and sixty five pounds.
So uh so it's pretty obvious that he needs to get a little bit stronger in the lower body there.
Um what I found really interesting is uh he has a fastball that can touch a hundred.
He uh hasn't
tu touched it this year.
He's had a couple of setbacks.
Um so he's been more work dealing ninety seven, ninety eight.
Um
But he didn't trust his fastball as much when he was in in the twins organization.
And I feel like
Just from some of the things that that my sources have told me, there was a bit of a disconnect uh between the twins coaching staff uh and Hill.
And uh so when he came with the Blue Jays, uh he he was actually that week I was in Vancouver, his first week in Vancouver, and Blue Jays uh minor league pitching development director Jason Lear came uh to work with him and he said he fell in love with Hill after his full uh first bullpen uh and just said use the fastball.
