You see wealth increasing.
Khan II, there's an interregnum for 18 years before he can actually accede to the throne, which suggests a lot of background politics that we can't see really in the glyphs.
But he accedes at 618, and then he's governing for a bit.
And then the final ruler, Smokeskull, takes over for the last 22 years.
And 22 years is a long time to be a ruler.
He's a ruler of a very secure state.
But Smokeskull, we only have from two monumental records.
One is a stucco text on Kana, and the other is a monument that is out at La Rojoia.
And La Rojoia is one of the outlying districts for Caracol.
It's currently the northwest part that's in Guatemala, and the one that's closest to a waterway.
And on that text, it basically says he retook Ushuitza.
Ushuitza is the Maya name for the city of Karakol.
And what it is, is it literally means three mountain place.
And now the question is, how did he lose it?
Because he doesn't talk about that part.
All of these texts are always very positive.
It's what we did that went well.
And this is actually pretty bad that it's one of the surviving texts.
And what he said is, I retook something I shouldn't have lost.
Yeah, he ends up experiencing issues.
