And so you may be sitting on those ComBank shares that you bought for $5.40 back in the 80s, yeah?
And you've accumulated an incredible gain.
And we'll continue by the 30th of June next year to have this big gain that's been locked in and unrealised.
It's only from the share price from the 30th of June, the closing share price of the 30th of June, 2027, that you're going to be calculating what a capital gain or loss there may be.
And from there, it's going to be 30%.
So we've got a situation where, and I'm talking about my book, I'm going to add...
pages to my book.
And it's going to be, you bought it before this date, you bought after this date.
You sold before this date, you sold after this date.
There's all these different variables that's going to occur.
And so you've got to go through this decision tree and then go, okay, what is the valuation at the 30th of June, 2027?
From thereafter, you're paying.
Now,
It's not going to matter too much if people have held property or shares for 20, 30, 40 years.
It's going to make a big difference for those who bought stuff in the last three or four years, in the immediate term, in the last three or four years, and made a significant gain.
And it could be cryptocurrency, it could be properties in Western Australia, or whatever the case may be.
They've got to make a decision, well, what do I do at that point in time?
