You've got three months to get over it.
No one will say that to you, but people expect you in about three months to be over it and moving on.
When are you ever going to be truly okay with losing someone you love?
My brother died at 19, right?
Obviously, he's tragically died by suicide, but it could be another family member or friend.
When am I ever going to wake up and go, do you know what?
I feel cool that my brother's died now.
I'm actually fine with it.
I'm at peace with the fact he's died.
No worries.
It's such a natural thing to expect.
The problem is that society expects you to get over the death of something, rather than what you should try and do, which is to learn to live with it and by it.
And what I mean by that is that my brother has died, so I'd like to continue some of his values.
I want to remember him in his existence.
When I look at sports cars, which we enjoy together, I think of him.
When there's a moment of sadness, I want to feel that sadness.
Around Christmas, I want to feel a bit of sadness.
But I also want to laugh at the amazing stories.
So at no point do I want to get over his death.
I want it to come with me on my journey of life.
