Yeah, absolutely.
So, you know, I think I like to think about this in sort of a evolutionary perspective.
So um, humans have been on Earth for about 200,000 years.
And for most of that time, ninety-nine percent of that time, we have lived until age forty.
And it's only been the last really 150 years that we've lived past 40.
So our genes
Adapted over this incredible long span of time to help us reproduce and then die.
So I think modern medicine is absolutely incredible.
And again, I'm grateful for what I got to do in the ER.
And it's, and we have bought humans an extra 40 years of life.
But I think where where I come in is that all the a lot of the support that we had in the first four.
Years of hormones, of naturally produced peptides, of of anti-inflammatory uh signals.
All that goes away after age 40 because again, the body has basically marshalled all its resources to keep us alive, reproduce, and then now we get to live longer.
And we actually have a lot of tools to sort of guide that machinery to create health in that second.
Half of life, you know, so that we're not just living, we're also thriving and we're happy and we're vital and we feel good, you know, and and I think that's kind of the the future of my little realm of medicine is that um we we're not just gonna be alive and we don't take um the wear and tear of aging as as a certainty, you know, that that there's certain things that we can do to to make those years even better.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And you know, I think our our genes change very slowly.
Our our environment on Earth has actually changed incredibly quickly, but our genes evolve slowly.
So we still have caveman genes and um and those kind of uh govern what those peptides and hormones are doing.
