Like how do they share expenses?
Do they contribute to the family fund?
Do they have all the money just be shared?
Whatever.
I mean, you obviously know a lot more about this than I do, but there can be a lot of different, you know, sort of situations with how people do their finances.
But what I have seen a lot is women who make the money, the higher amount of money in their relationship, they also have this sneaky belief that
that therefore they should be able to decide how it's spent.
And if that's not really your arrangement, and if your arrangement is like, this is our family money, but you kind of are like subtly dictating how it's spent, that's usually one of the bigger problems that our partners will have with our level of success.
It's not that they don't like our success, probably.
In fact, most of our partners really admire our success.
If they're with us, there's a reason.
So it's not the success itself that feels intimidating.
It's what we sort of make that mean, that like we get to decide what we should spend on.
We get to decide, you know, what are we going to invest in?
So my advice on that is if you're already in a relationship and you feel like maybe your partner is a bit intimidated or feels a bit less than because you're the one making the money, you want to really make sure that you are making decisions financially as partners.
And often, and women hate it when I say this, but even defer to him a lot of the time.
If you are married to this man and he is a grownup and you've chosen to marry him, you've got to learn to trust him, to lead himself and the family in a lot of ways.
And so, yes, you make the money, but can you let your partner have at least an equal say in how it's spent?
And maybe even more of a say.
If it's not something that's like a huge, important decision for you, it's like, well, this option or this option could be okay.
