And ADHD makes you much more susceptible to that.
So I tell them a couple of things.
One, and I say this unabashedly, I would tell them to go to our website at understood.org to look and learn more about their ADHD.
We have thousands of free resources that people can learn about.
What am I susceptible to when I travel?
What are some things that I can do to plan my travel or to plan how I organize my materials to travel that can help me be more successful?
And you can do it sort of in a shame-free way.
Because I think sometimes asking for advice from a friend requires you to sort of expose your shortcomings, which is a little bit sensitive.
I think for a lot of folks, really planning as best you can, learning about your ADHD from valued, validated, evidence-based sites like u.org, and setting yourself up for success by really just learning all you can before you go.
I think those are really the best strategies.

And if I overspend a little bit to do that zip lining trip, you know, that requires a little bus trip, then the next day I'll do a little more low power city walk-in or whatever.
And I think that, you know, giving yourself some flexibility for, you know, momentary joy is great, but good planning makes it so much better.
You've got such an important set of skills, which is you know what to do when something goes wrong.
And I think that, you know what, putting together an FAQ of things you can do when things go wrong on your flights or on your trip can be a wonderful, wonderful thing for people.
As a neurodivergent person and as a divergent thinker, I'm really good at that too.
You know, I've had a flight cancel.
I flew somewhere, I had a flight cancel for my connection and everybody was freaking out at the gate.
They're in a line, 17 people long, got out my app.
