Or the third approach is sort of to look one way and say, and I'm going to put it over there.

The most effective strategy is pick your spot.

and just ignore the keeper.

That's the most, again, going back to the science, that's the most effective response.

So again, we've got to train players to be able to ignore them.

But as I said, the keeper knows if someone's not really sure or someone's not particularly motivated to take this penalty, chances are the focus is going to go on them.

And that's then when they can use their tactics to try and put them off.

Absolutely.

And I think that's really, really good what you've suggested there about even having a conversation with it.

Because if you sit down as a team and, you know, it's important to do an analysis on these types of situations, but even sit down with players and say, right, when it comes to penalty shootouts, are there any fears?

you know, what is it that you might be worried about and kind of going through those what ifs.

Because oftentimes players, because as you said, there's so little time put into practicing and to training for penalties, actually give them the opportunity to sit down and talk about it and kind of do that analysis and how are you feeling and where was your mindset at and to address some of those fears.

And then once you do that, then you're gonna be better prepared come the time.

But I think, you know, we look, we're always learning.

That's us as humans, as athletes, as coaches, as managers.

We don't know it all from day one and then just know everything going forward.

We always have to take that attitude.

OK, we take this lesson.

It's a disappointing one to learn.

But we learn from it and we'd be better because of it.
