So, I mean, this is all kind of intermixed with cognitive development and where your child is developmentally and a toddler's job, which, by the way, when we're using the term toddler is age one to four.
Or that's the word that I use, toddler.
You can maybe say preschool or whatever, but kids who are not school age yet.
Those kids, their job is to learn how to be independent and be in control of their world.
which is great because when they are in charge and they are accomplishing things, that builds their self-esteem.
So it's a really important milestone for them developmentally.
But the problem is your job is to keep your child safe.
And we don't want them to hurt themselves or we don't want them hurting somebody else.
And we want to create good humans who make good choices and are kind and all of those things.
And so those can...
come in big conflict with each other, right?
Those two jobs.
And so that's where the pushback starts.
And so it's a toddler who's doing their developmental job, but not knowing where the limits are that keep them safe and keep other people safe.
In fact, there is always a biter in a toddler room.
At preschool, there's always a biter.
