One of the other strongest risk factors for like every disease out there is being isolated.
And so in Western culture, we have the, we're super imposing these two risk factors.
The people who are the most isolated are the people who are the oldest.
And so they're at super high risk.
And so if you look at the, the effects of isolation,
on mortality, just how likely you are to die, it's the highest in older people.
It's like above 65 if you're isolated, you're 78% more likely to die by any cause if you're a man, 57% more likely if you're a woman.
And so I really encourage people to like visit your parents, visit your grandparents.
get them a dog, get them a cat, maybe.
It's really something that we like need to be addressing.
And I keep seeing more and more of these in-home dementia and like older person care kind of things.
I love these programs that like pair a college student with an older person and the college student comes over once a month and they have coffee or something like we need so much more of that.
I really, really do.
Not just because it's probably good for young people to learn from the older generations, but also because the older people's brains really, really need it.
Give them people they like, I think, and people they trust, especially in dementia.
There's a lot of paranoia.

My grandma actually recently passed and she had dementia, but she was such a sweet woman, super, super paranoid.
I once took her to the museum locally, the Museum of Science, and she was like, this is incredible.
Like the kids were playing and she's like, I forgot how much I love children and watching them play.
