So I became like...
It could have been an unhealthy obsession with learning.
Like I remember I was part of the study for long-term methadone use and I was being brought into St.
James's to do a brain scan, an fMRI scan.
And I remember I was only three weeks in detox, like I was still coming off methadone and coming off opiates.
And I remember saying it to Natalie, she was the psychologist in there.
I said, Natalie, can you take notes for me?
I don't want to miss out on today's curriculum.
And she says, Brian, there's no curriculum.
You're here to get off heroin.
You're here to save your life.
So this was a crazy mindset that really helped me that I wanted to learn so much.
But Dr. Johanna Ivers was the one doing this study.
And I still was thinking, am I still brain damaged?
Is there something wrong with me?
It was only a couple of weeks after that experience.
