I'm not sure what I can believe anymore, Tucker.
Honestly, I don't know.
Would it be beyond this administration to fudge the numbers and say we have more gasoline in stores than we do?
Sure.
Well, within the realm of possible.
But if we can believe the numbers as they are, we see that all of our actual stocks and inventories are going down.
Now, this was tragically comedical when Trump came out and said, we're going to go after the retailers for gouging on gas.
It's like, oh, dude, that's not how this market works at all.
The 7-Eleven is a price taker.
The guy with the big tanker shows up, tells him what that costs.
And he's also a price taker.
Exactly.
but we're going to see a lot higher prices because again all those inventories are just screaming downwards and so there comes a point where i think we just have kind of like how did hemingway go broke you know slowly then all at once i think we're going to slowly people are going to start waking up that there's a there's a real crisis here these are shocking levels of inventory and eventually there's mad scramble and that's the all at once part of this but you know 2022
America imposed sanctions on Russia, Russian tankers and all that stuff.
And so there was the thought that maybe three million barrels a day might come offline.
And that was enough to send oil from then about 80 to 120, where it stood for five months.
Right.
And then it turned out, oh, after the news settled in, they're like, I wasn't such a big deal because Russia ended up using shadow tankers and selling it to India.
Yeah.
No big deal.
