This is called non-monetary gold.

And so that's something non-monetary gold's held in comics, for instance.

It's not the stuff held at the Federal Reserve.

We think.

I'd also love an audit of the Fed.

That would be a fine thing to see what's going on there.

But the flow of gold around the world, it's kind of, it's a funny thing.

If you really want to get into gold statistics, it's very hard because they're super opaque and they just, they tell you it's a barber's relic.

It's not important, but no, you can't see any of this data, right?

The London data is really hard to get.

um you can you can more easily find instructions on how to build nuclear devices right on the internet it's just like it's this weird thing so i know it's important because they won't tell me how much we have they won't let me see the statistics you know but they say it's not that important so we know it's important and we also know that central banks around the world have been accumulating to the point now that gold is actually a larger holding

in central banks around the world than treasuries big crossover moment there so my sense of gold is somebody's working extra hard to just keep it tamped down because it would be really awkward right now if it went up in price and signaled something inappropriate and so that's what i've learned about our markets they're actually signaling devices they're not legitimate places of inquiry and price discovery between honest buyers and sellers they're often used to set prices so

This is a great story.

So gold was illegal from 1933 to 1973, right?

Yep.

And then, okay, so there was a lot of concern.

They're going to make it legal for U.S.

citizens to own it again.

So they're very concerned that it was going to go up in price maybe a lot, and that would send the wrong signal.
