I have burnout a bunch of times.
But how I see myself is not necessarily how I want the guys who are my registrars and my F2s at the moment.
It's not how I want them to see themselves.
So it's not holding them to a set of behaviors which I do hold myself to.
And that's for better or worse.
Sometimes it has been for better and sometimes it's been for worse.
It's recognising that things change and that actually people can perform better in a different way to the one that I was educated in and that I am privileged enough to be able to create a better environment for people where I can look for them to fulfil their potential without destroying themselves in the process.
And that's on my shoulders to create that space.
Yeah.
And it's dangerous, isn't it?
I mean, it sits there and there will be many people in the room who define themselves that way.
And I do too.
And it hurts sometimes.
And that's the nature of seeing yourself that way and living up to a set of values that sometimes are actually impossible to live up to and being honest with yourself and accepting that those things are, they're not professionally helpful, they're not personally helpful.
And for me, it's the honesty in the conversation with people who are coming up through the system to talk about things that have broken me
and how to look out for some of that.
