Well, confusion is the name of the game with the Trump administration.
But right now we're seeing an exquisite game of hot potato.
President Trump, nothing happens in this White House without President Trump not only acknowledging it, but also ordering it.
So there is nothing within me, and there shouldn't be within anybody else, who thinks that Pete Hexseth went about this just off the top of the dome with no strategy whatsoever and not the president's authority.
But the bigger part here is that within the president's response, he is literally not giving Pete Hexseth an off-brand.
He's throwing that man under the bus, clearly.
And it could be because he wants him out sooner.
We know that the second in line for that role was actually Governor Ron DeSantis.
It could also be that at this point, it has been shown, as much as you said in your opening,
that these are not the best and the brightest people.
These are not people who were the strongest in the leadership roles they happen to be in.
And Pete Hegseth has been wrong on multiple occasions, not only loud and wrong, but he's also somebody who has stepped out ahead of the president in terms of some of his rhetoric around the moves there as well.
But I think that what we're seeing is an administration that doesn't want to admit any type of wrongdoing.
Because if they do, that makes them lose a certain bit of their grip.
But on top of that, Trump also recognizes war crimes.
He recognizes that, you know, to distance yourself also means that other people, lower level individuals, will take the fall and likely come up on some types of charges.
not only within the International Criminal Court, but also as it relates to the ongoing and what I would consider what we're going to see in terms of a prosecution later on down the line.
But this is a president who does not want to take who does not want to take his role in leadership here.
But this is also somebody who I think is creating a creating his own level of cover for when Pete Hegseth ultimately takes the ball.
Well, we know that the cruelty and the chaos has been the point of the Trump 2.0 administration.
