Good evening, everyone, and happy holiday Monday. I'm Charles Coleman, Jr., and would like to welcome you to the Don Lemon Show Live at 5. I'm here guest hosting for Don today as he travels. I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving. We have got a lot to talk about. One of the things that I really enjoy about being able to sit in a seat for Don is when I'm on the show as a guest, I get to learn because I'm not a journalist and Don is. But there are things that I can do that Don can't because he's not a lawyer. And one of the things about that is I've tried cases before. And so in trying a case, I would like to take you inside of what my former life was, my former world was as a prosecutor. And tonight, as far as my opening statement, I'm going to give you what would be the equivalent of an opening statement in the case against the best people.
I want you to think about this as we go forward, because this is exactly how I would present if I were in court and you all were the jury. The case against the best people. And so as I stood in front of the jury to make my opening statement and tell you about the case I was about to present, this would be the first piece of evidence that I would show you all to open up the scene.
I know the best people. I know the best managers. I know the best deal makers. We're going to make America great again. We're going to use our best people. We can do it because the people are so amazing. I want the best people. But the cabinet, we're going to have all the best people. We're going to find out who they are. So we're going to get the best people. But we're going to use our best people. We need to get the best and the finest. We're going to deliver. We're going to get the best people in the world. You got to pick the best people. And so the question becomes, how is it, how can it be that you have the best people and yet you have such a mess? And what do I mean when I say such a mess? Well, the first best person we're going to look at tonight is our Secretary of Defense or our Secretary for the Department of War, Mr. Pete Hegseth. Now, if you haven't heard that there's currently a controversy around Pete Hegseth and some of the calls that he has made regarding airstrikes from our country to off of the Caribbean Sea. And there have been going back to September 2nd, where a airstrike was ordered on a boat allegedly carrying drugs and drug runners. And the problem with this particular airstrike was that it had what is known as a double tap.
And for those of us who are unfamiliar, a double tap means that there was an airstrike, the boat was blown up, but apparently there were survivors who were allegedly clinging to wreckage. And the Secretary of War is alleged to have given the order to strike again, despite the fact that these people pose no actual threat at the time. We are not in a war and they are not war combatants.
