It definitely has an impact on their journey.
Nora, another study on migraine disease shows that it takes just over six years for someone experiencing migraine with Aura and over 10 years for someone experiencing migraine without aura to get the diagnosis and move towards that treatment therapy.
It's just too long.
We need to get started quicker than that.
And that's really the big takeaway here.
That's why we need to think about diagnosis.
Those barriers that
People tend to see Caitlin spoke to them.
It's the minimization, it's the misattributation, is it sinusitis?
It's just my stress headache, it's my dehydration headache.
And so we sort of wish some of that away.
And as much as patients try to rationalize it, providers do too.
And as in Caitlin's example, when you're a younger person, oftentimes don't take it as seriously as they ought to, as well.
And so patients do tend
kind of sort of gaslight themselves into saying, well, you know, everything's gonna be fine.
Yeah, all of these critical life experiences take place.
And in that period of time, without diagnosis, without therapy, these folks are trying to manage that in the presence of chronic migraine, and it's tremendously disabling, and they're still doing it anyway.
