And it was supposed to be only like they were going to bring on 50 ferrets that were all male, but they didn't sex them properly.
And they bred and there was a million ferrets and they were taking out all these seabirds.
They were taking out like chicken coops.
A lot of people, there's a lot of like urban farms, little backyard farms in this tiny little island.
So they're doing a lot of damage.
And so they put in this amazing project where they spent millions of dollars, where they had live traps, 7,000 live traps that people were hand-making to catch ferrets and rats.
Rats were also a bit of a problem, but they just snuck in.
Thermal imaging drones, AI-assisted camera traps...
but the real secret was woody the wonder dog who's a red fox colored labrador retriever think of a yellow labrador retriever but red fox he's a ginger and he was trained to sniff him out and he could go into this rough terrain and sniff out the ferrets and let's just say take care of them um
Now, the thing about Woody, so originally he had two eyes.
And when Woody runs around in these crazy environments with a lot of thorn bushes and whatnot, he wears safety goggles.
Oh.
But he plays on his break.
He doesn't wear safety goggles.
He hurt his eye.
He had to have his eye removed.
Now he's retired because all the ferrets are gone completely for the last three years.
He is a biosecurity dog.
