This is a classic kind of colonial setup.
But what we have then is that we've now moved from exporting cattle to exporting companies.
So the big thing now in terms of startups is the buyout.
And you have this whole kind of mentality where startups and our universities are incubators for startups.
So it's using kind of state money, public funding to build up kind of small companies.
When those companies get to a stage where they can start to compete internationally, the big boys, they kind of come in and they try and buy out the startups.

But the mentality in Ireland is that these owners of these startups are waiting for the buyout.
So we have this whole thing that we've gone from exporting cattle to exporting companies.
One or two do get through, like it's just Stripe and so forth.
But even Stripe now has been bought out, you know.
So even in terms of... We don't develop that indigenous... It doesn't get over the hump.
So there's a wall where companies start to turn into genuine export-led businesses, right?
And when you get to that stage, what happens in capitalism is that, you know, it leans towards monopoly, right?
So the big boys kind of come in and they want to buy up these kind of companies, which they then do.
And this is seen as a good thing.
IDA and Enterprise Ireland, they can facilitate this.
What you could do is that instead of just giving grants to these companies, is that the estate takes equity in these kind of companies.
That will save them from the buyout and get them into a genuine estate business.
where you can then become world leaders.
