What is that?
Absolutely.
Imagery rehearsal therapy is the frontline treatment.
It's one of three that usually gets recommended for nightmare treatment, but it's just the one that has the most research.
And we're working to do the research on the others too.
It's just an area where we need to catch up in our science.
But imagery rehearsal therapy takes the idea that nightmares become
scripts and habits over time.
When people have the same nightmare over and over again, their brain is pulling the same imagery that matches the distress.
Oftentimes people are going to bed anxious for a lot of different reasons, but including the fear of having another nightmare.
