They're not as good as they used to be.
And so with creatine on board, creatine is doing a lot.
You can increase, if you have the right dose of creatine, so if you're taking somewhere like a loading phase, somewhere between 10 and even 20 grams a day, you're going to increase brain creatine source somewhere between 5 and 15%.
So let's just say like, you know, 10, 11% on average.
So not as much as muscle, right?
Muscle, you're increasing at about 20%.
But there's a variety of different mechanistic pathways that are of interest.

I just created a reel for Instagram talking about
a new paper out of China that this group was looking to identify new neurotransmitters.
And after 12 years of looking and searching, they identified creatine as possibly a new neurotransmitter.
It fulfills a lot of criteria.
You find it in synapses, which is like the final communication structure.
It's released into the synapse.
We haven't found a creatine receptor yet.
That's important.
That's a missing piece of the puzzle.
But all these different criteria for something qualifying as a neurotransmitter seem to be present for creatine.
