I'm surprised that the Oxford Handbook was this honest.
Yeah.
I mean, terrorism studies is just a cesspool.
So this is, yeah, this is pronounced.
We're talking 50 years at this point.
Basically nationalism being suppressed on one side.
No, this is new to me.
I think the discrepancy is also like really important to highlight here because when 1948 happens, I think a lot of maybe pro-Israel readings of that event or propaganda around that event is that
oh, all of these Arab countries attacked Israel.
But in fact, they were armed, like, three to one.
And it's because of this discrepancy that's, like, continued through time that the British have allowed for them to, like, build up their material power.
So even with those Arab countries...
It's very difficult to say you're an Arab Jew when there's not really space for you in either nationalism, essentially.
And then, of course, we're not even getting to the part of all of the Arab-Jewish migration that happens in the aftermath of Israel's creation and how the state treats them.
I mean, today, I think there are over 50% of the population of Jewish Israelis, but you wouldn't know that.
There's so much similarity between them and their Palestinian enemies, essentially, but because of, like you said, the identity has been erased.
