Maybe it's just that.
If you're going to be bullied, you have to find a way to stand your ground.
And you don't need to stand your ground personally.

Exactly.
Will this work for everyone?
Of course not.
But the moral of the story is bullies bully because they can.
And when they can't, when they're finally held accountable, when there's a boundary in place, it makes it a lot more difficult.
