Yeah.

I mean, I think the bottom line is that kids are resilient.

Humans are resilient.

We have survived in all kinds of different conditions.

And that's kind of our superpower as humans is our adaptability.

But it's a relatively new phenomenon for men to be present at their baby's birth.

So, birth is a very social process, and that's unique for humans.

So, most animals can deliver an infant solo, no problem.

Birth is fairly straightforward.

We have these complicated, annoying human pelvises that reshaped when we started walking upright, and we also have these babies with these gigantic social brains.

And so birth can be very cumbersome for women, and they often require assistance to steer a baby out of the birth canal.

So you see in most human births, there are helpers.

And in fact, one theory about why we evolved to live in societies is

Right.

But the people helping with childbirth are almost always women through most of human history.

It's a midwife.

It's a grandmother.

It's sisters and community members.

So it was really only in the 19th century that childbirth became really medicalized.

And you have doctors in hospitals who are presiding over childbirth.
