And I remember saying, have you by chance ever seen a unicyclist?
So let's assume they say yes.
And have you ever seen a unit cyclist come to a stop?
I'll say, yeah, it's amazing.
I'll say, no, you haven't.
If a unit cyclist is essentially in one spot, their legs do not stop because they're constantly adjusting and adapting in order to stay in one place.
So to me, control or balance is,
is actually about, I prefer the words, adjust and adapt.
That's what evolution has endowed us with.
I think meditation is, in my view, aimed at helping us not regain control, but to trust more deeply our inner capacity to adjust and adapt to what is always changing.
we can feel less distressed by things that are always changing because we are able to adjust and adapt.
Become more malleable.
But I don't think it really is control.
