Well, do they target metabolism as something I should be paying attention to as a neurologist and as a voice as it relates to protecting the brain by shifting metabolism?
The answer is you bet.

A fascinating study appeared looking at 151 individuals with Parkinson's disease.
That's a disease in which people get worse year after year.

Do we have drugs to treat it?

These are drugs that manage the tremor and manage the rigidity of
and allow these patients to get on with their lives and do things, be mobile, because they target basically the pathway that's becoming deficient in the Parkinson's brain, and that is the dopamine motor pathway.
So while the brain's losing its dopamine from this particular area, we give exogenous dopamine, and the patients seem to improve.
