Now it's, you know, everybody's talking about it.

We call them highly processed carbohydrates.
Uh but now I think the umbrella is a little bit larger because it's not just the processing of the carbohydrates leading to insulin resistance that seems to be the problem.
It's the the modified fats, the additives, all the things that constitute
But you know, as it relates to the brain, I mean we made the contention back with Grain Brain, and there was pushback from the mainstream.
I'll tell you one experience in a moment.

But there was pushback back then, less so now because there's so much data relating what we now call ultra-processed foods.
Uh, one study that came out in the Journal of Prevention of Alzheimer's disease.

Uh this was uh
one thousand three hundred and seventy five people that they followed for twelve point seven years.
I hate to say elderly 'cause they were younger than me as an average, they were sixty eight to seventy.
And these were people who were cognitively intact at the beginning of them when they were followed, but had some metabolic issues.
And they had two groups.
One group was
Given an intensive program and interfaced with the directors of this program thirty-six times in two years.
The other group was given the program but had interface maybe two or three times a year over the two years.
