Als ich ein Student war, konnte ich nie erwartet haben, dass wir diese Art von Informationen aus den Beinen bekommen würden, um zu beweisen, dass es eine völlig andere Spezies war. Where are we going to be in 100 years? Hopefully we'll know a lot more. It's one of the reasons I really don't want to wreck all these sites before those guys in the future get a hold of this stuff.
Just to make a small point on that too, that's not how every archaeologist project has to be. In fact, when I do contract archaeology that was about making way for development or highways or things, a lot of my project directors there would purposely say, Look, you know, our test pitting program says that this site is, you know, X extent. It goes across this 50 meters.
Let's just dig ten of it and leave the rest of it be. Let's just, you know, we're here to collect information and objective. Is this a unique site? How old is this site? Should this be further investigated or just noted and let go or preserved? And we, I've been part of a number of sites that we have with eyes wide open said, let's not dig it all.
Let's leave part of this place for future generations.

Es gibt eine Vielfalt anderer Klassen.
Aber ich denke, wie würdest du einen Priester zeigen? Vielleicht mit seinem Garb. Aber wenn er ein Objekt trägt, vielleicht ist es ein Scepter oder so etwas. Aber ich denke, dass diese Tasche, zumindest in Mesoamerika und vielleicht weiter, ist... The bag of herbs and special things. I know Maya shamans today, or day keepers, who walk around with very similar bags.
And inside their bags are corn, seeds, beans and crystals. And somebody asks them to divine what's wrong with them or what they should do. They pull that bag out and they do a little reading for them.
I think that in that context, when somebody's making an art program that's showing important people in the city, in the same way that the spear denotes the warrior, the bag denotes the priest or magician, shaman, whatever you want to call them. There's this cool place in Chichen Itza called the Temple of a Thousand Columns. There aren't a thousand, there's like a couple hundred.
But right in front of the Temple of the Warriors are these rectangular columns that on all four sides are depicting someone standing in the colonnade. And some of them are warriors and some are these guys with robes and bags. And I think that they're making... eine direkte Vergleiche zwischen den Priestern und den Kriegern dieses Tempels.

I guess the only point is... Carbon-14 went through a bit of a revolution a couple... I guess it was maybe in the 1990s. We got AMS stating, Accelerated Mass Spectrometry Dating.
