It's not like he's going through this with one name.
You know, he's different to everybody he talks to.
And of course, the next person he talks to is, in fact, Penelope herself.
It really is.
And it's the first time that he's really kind of had a chat with her for 20 years and they're sitting down talking together.
Now, whether she recognises him or not, that's left open.
And I think it's part of the beauty of the poetry that it is left open.
It's up to you essentially to decide whether you think Penelope recognised him or not.
She makes several sort of coy remarks.
One that I particularly like is, oh, beggar, your hands look so similar to those of my husband.
So, you know, whether she's sort of indicating that perhaps she does know that it's him.
She mentions to him this dream that she's had, that she had some geese, 20 geese that she really, really loved.
And then an eagle came in and killed them all.
And she asks him to interpret it.
And he interprets that Odysseus is coming home soon and he is going to slaughter the suitors.
Oh, yeah.
It's been signposted.
They're going to be killed right here.
Absolutely.
And he's told Penelope that that's happening.
