And she suddenly realises this is her old master.

She's absolutely team Odysseus.

I mean, she basically both breastfed Odysseus and she breastfed Telemachus.

So she's been the wet nurse for both of the men in the family.

So she is born and bred absolutely in that family.

She is an enslaved person within the family, but we're given to understand that she is very much kind of a well-treated enslaved woman within Odysseus' household.

And she absolutely, she is overjoyed that Odysseus has come home.

However, she kind of wants to shout it out.

She's really, really excited about this.

And Odysseus is very keen that she doesn't give the game away.

And so he really is quite kind of stern with her.

And, you know, old woman, you know, you cannot give this up.

You cannot tell anybody.

So Eurycleia is not even allowed to tell Penelope at this point that Odysseus is home.

So he has multiple different stories.

And this is what we heard with the Cretan tales.

So these are all of his little Cretan stories.

In some of them, he is Cretan.

In others, he's blown off course and lands on Crete.

He has a different shifting identity each time, which is very Odyssey in that his disguise is kind of never really pinned down.
