I mean, I'm really passionate about thinking about why these stories matter now and why we should keep turning back to them.
And my book, Mythica, is about the real women who stand behind these myths and who might have made up the kind of the tapestry of the late Bronze Age world, who might have kind of prefigured figures like Helen, like Penelope, like Nausicaa Arete, who we've talked about, Calypso Circe.
What was the reality of the world behind that?
And how did they sort of trickle down into the legends that ended up making Homer's Odyssey?
So, you know, it's something that what's fascinating about it is that, yes, there was a history that was standing behind the Odyssey.
But it's also something that we've been lost because we haven't been thinking and talking about the women.
And what we can do now, because we're interested in those stories again, because, you know, we're looking back, we're turning back constantly to these tales.
We can start to ask new questions.
And for me, that's what's so exciting about the Odyssey.
