The thing that did annoy me in the DSM five is they took um O C D.
out of anxiety disorders and gave its own special little category with
Uh skin pulling, uh hair pulling, uh skin pecking, hair pulling, hoarding disorder, blah blah blah.
Not a fan.
Look, it was actually it was a really political decision because half of us in the field were like, That's crazy, don't do it, blah blah and the other half, like Hollander and he was very big into um impulsive disorders, were like, No, look at what's happening in the brain, blah, blah, blah.
There's merit on both sides, but the the
DSM4 people and I think the anxiety um theorists, for us it was very much like, Okay, fine, we know that yes, orbital prefrontal cortex and the looping we're not taking away, but the function of OCD and the behaviours will always be anxiety driven.
Do you know what I mean?
And taking it away from its from its mates is just crazy.
Anyway, forget where we went with this, but um
So it's separate in its own little It has its own little category and it's it's good in a way 'cause it's special and different.
But then you have naughty therapists like me that still say it's an anxiety disorder and still get corrected but I just
Pretend.
I mean I just seemed it as well.
Well this is a problem because you and I are gonna talk the same language, right?
