So it's those bottom half of the income distribution that need supports, that need protections, not those universal measures that further drive up price levels by putting more money in the economy and erode some of those benefits for the lower income households.

Yeah, I mean, something like food, you know, we do tend to change our behaviour when we're expecting higher prices in the future.

But not so much when it comes to something like food, because food has what we call an inelastic demand.

In other words, you know, we tend, we have an amount of food that we require.

We generally buy what we need and

and not much more.

There are some things that people can change.

So, for example, people might switch the brand that they're buying.

They might try and substitute for cheaper products.

But actually, if you look at the Kantar figures from last year,

the number or the value of money that's spent on own brand is actually already higher than the value of money that's spent on branded goods in Ireland.

So you already have, and again, that's back to those vulnerable households, you probably have already got a lot of households who are really struggling with the cost of living.

and who've already made those changes.

They're buying own brand, they're buying the cheapest products possible.

And so really there aren't any substitutes available for those households.

Those people who are on the higher end maybe might make some changes in that regard.

Yeah, it could.

But I guess when you think about the types of goods here, so, you know, we're not back to the COVID toilet paper stockpiling days.

You know, if you're thinking about like it's really it's agricultural products, probably that we're going to see the biggest impact here.

And, you know, there's not so much of a potential to stockpile there.
