You know, all the things that we do, I think that there's probably not a better reason to be bothered than helping patients.

Let's shift gears a little and talk about something that I think every listener can relate to.

You know, most urologists will encounter transgender or gender diverse patients, whether it be for kidney stones, incontinence, BPH, for other reasons.

You know, even if they're not performing, you know, gender surgery or gender affirming care, you know, for the general urologists, what are some core principles to providing competent and affirming care for patients with gender dysphoria or those who have had gender surgery?

Yeah, I mean, that makes sense.

You know, compartmentalizing, you know, problems is something that we do in every other facet of medicine.

You know, as a reconstructive urologist who, you know, treats strictures in my practice, you know, I relish the opportunity to not talk about someone's PSA.

So I suppose it makes sense that, you know, if you're treating someone's stones,

And I think that's an easy kind of rule of thumb to live by.

You know, you're going to be treating gender diverse patients the same way you're going to be treating every other patient.
