Or, you know, put on some music and everyone dance.
You can find ways to honor people, you know, just think about who they were when they were alive, and then that's what you should do in death.

And it's not, I think the other thing that people don't kind of sometimes clock all the time is that, like, death is not an emergency.

When I talk to my students, and so I now teach deaf at the university, and I talk to them about, like, you know, what would you do if you walked into your grandmother's home and, you know, your 90-year-old grandmother was dead, you know, found her dead.
And a lot of them are like, oh, I've got to call the police, got to call the ambulance.
And I say, well, why don't you just make a cup of tea?
Why don't you just sit down and kind of be with her, be with her body?
Like, she's 95.
She's dead.
You know, you can give yourself time and grace to sit with your feelings.
Like, death is so ordinary in some ways that I think because we encounter it so rarely, it always seems so big and scary.
