I was three months pregnant when we incorporated fertility.
So I didn't really take much of a break.
But my academic role, yeah, I went, I remember thinking it was the day I was meant to go back, was the day, first day of lockdown.
And I was holding her in my arms thinking,
How could I ever leave this part of me behind?
It felt like worse than leaving my heart.
Every part of me I was leaving behind.
And I weep for the loss of nurture that we're giving to our children.
And again, I don't mean that in a preachy way, in any way.
I mean, like, how are we not afforded the right
the biological right to just be mothers in all of its sleepless glory, to be mothers full time because society has now constructed a need for both people to be working full time.
And guess what?
You're still going to fall short.
You still won't afford a house.
It's still not enough.
I think it's impossible to know.
I think if there's one thing we can take a huge amount of solace in, it's the fact that we can never replace that fundamental role of motherhood.
That is a job that can never be taken away from AI and they'll start to value human connection.
