I was like, no, this is dangerous.

And it's funny how you allow that because you yourself are receptive to it because you are in that nurture role.

But that instinct is one of the, if not the, most finely tuned evolutionary compasses to point you in the right direction.

Because we are, from an evolutionary standpoint, curated to protect, nourish and nurture and to keep our babies safe.

And so we as humanity would never have survived if we didn't have this ability to actually just know.

And I find that so incredible, the ability that our body does just know.

We learn an entire set of instructions to create.

a human life and actually that profound need.

So I spoke to somebody the other day and we were talking about breastfeeding and both of us were still breastfeeding and we were, we were having to, we were arguing with our partners.

It was like we had to justify it to everyone around us that our, our need.

And she said, I can't forget it because she said I had an almost, I don't think it was violent, but it was like an almost aggressive need to breastfeed my baby.

And all I could think from that was how sad that we have to defend not and not be aggressive about something, but that we have to defend our biological instinct to feed our young, which is, again, the most profound strength.

that has enabled humans to survive is that need to feed and protect and keep our babies alive.

And yet, even in that, we have to defend it.

We have to fight for our right and justify why we're still breastfeeding our children, because we want to.

Yeah, I've had to, I have refused, I think, in a lot of ways to do a lot of that.

And so I have brought my baby with me to board meetings.

He's been with me all around the world.

I didn't have to make that choice with my daughter because it was lockdown.

We went into lockdown when she was nine months old.
