You know, the very first thing I did actually was scan down to see if it was hormone receptive.

I just wanted to see how treatable it was going to be.

And it seems like it will be very treatable.

But it is unfortunate that it was picked up in stage four.

You know, cancer is particularly prostate cancer.

It's incredibly treatable, especially when picked up in stage one, right?

That's when it's still inside of the prostate.

By the time it's got to stage four, it's moved outside of the prostate through the lymph nodes and has reached, it can reach other organs.

In his case, it sounds as though it's reached the bones.

So while it's still treatable, it would have been more ideal for him to have the diagnosis earlier.

You know, here's the thing.

The most common test for prostate cancer is something called a PSA test.

It's a very simple blood test.

And recommendations, though, vary about when you should have it and at what ages, right?

It's something that's followed with their physicians.

After the age of 70, a number of the societies suggest that

guidelines such that prostate cancer screening is ended.
