a bit of distractibility and just due to having had much sleep the night before or having a bit of an off day or an exacerbation of our ADHD symptoms through to this is a bit more pervasive and this feels and looks different and it's happening across multiple situations.
So when we ignore that, because we're not tuning in and knowing that that feeling is something else, we keep going.
And so we benefit from learning how to do that.
But also another thing that I think is really important,
If we're used to showing up and having to do more and compensate, you go into that rather than thinking, oh, what's going on?
We can assume, particularly against someone with ADHD, if you're being told that you should be trying harder and that it's your fault.
You take responsibility for that and keep on doing the things that you've always done to keep going.
And that actually is such a vicious cycle because that's just going to make it worse rather than going, hang on, maybe it's not me, actually.
Maybe the conditions are not conducive.
For me, maybe it's about a step before burnout.
Burnout will happen if we do not address the factors contributing to burnout.
So burnout has a way, you know, whether that is that kind of can't get out of bed one morning because you've managed to make it to that point and then come to a stuttering halt or you stop functioning in the way that you need to.
So that is serious enough in itself.
Obviously, along the way, the seriousness is the fact that people...
get ill.
It compromises our immune system.
We start to have anxiety, mood effects, physiological effects.
It can impair our sleep.
It can impair our relationships.
It can impair our confidence.
